Walgreens – $5.99 ink cartridge refill!

February 26, 2010

Today Walgreens has their refills on black and colored ink on sale for $5.99! This is an amazing price for the refills.

I have done the refills in the past and I have been happy with the outcome. It is good enough quality to print coupons in both colored and black and white. The cartridge doesn’t seem to last quite as long as a brand new one, but since a new cartridge is $35 for my printer (well one of my printers) I am happy.

It’s easy to do to. Just take your ink cartridges to the photo counter and drop them off to get refilled. Make sure you take this coupon. They can have them back to you in as little as 10 minutes if they aren’t too busy. Thanks krisitin!

Food Storage Friday – Building a storage room.

February 26, 2010
My friend Clara and her husband built this awesome food storage room into their garage.
I am so jealous!
I drug my husband over to show him so he would be as excited as I am about starting ours.
I’ll let you know if it worked!
Regardless, Clara and her husband did an amazing job and even cooler it really only took them about 9 hours the first day framing.
One day of drywall.
Last day finishing.
Looking through this door, you had been looking into their garage, it was basically an outside door.
Now they have a darling little entry way.

This view, I am standing in the doorway of the new door to the garage.
They did loose about 1/2 of their garage putting the room in.
But here in TX we really don’t have many other methods of a full store room, unless you move a child out!
Have I mentioned I would kill for a basement?!
They put in a really nice pocket door to save on space.
This is looking into her store room.
LOVE the gorilla shelving!
They put down laminate flooring, you can not store any food storage directly on cement.
Clara did hire out the drywall work which is well worth the money and time. They really know what they are doing and do it right.
We almost divorced over a dry walling episode in one of our bathrooms 🙂
Clara’s awesome upright freezer and containers of wheat.
They did a really nice job and it has honestly inspired my husband to help me get ours done.
Both Clara and I are doing, and did theirs, in way that if we have to rip it out to sell the house we will be able to do it easily.
She didn’t put down tile for that reason, a bugger to pull out 🙂
As we get going on ours I will let you know of the cost involved.
**The chemicals and moisture from the cement can ruin your food. Set the food on top of boards or some kind of barrier to prevent them from touching the cement.

Isn’t it ironic? Doncha’ think?!

February 25, 2010
“Tucker’s the oldest. He was hoping for a brother when Emma was born but he was happy with Emma, then along came Eliora, Paige, Audrey, Avery, Sierra, Storie and Sadie. He was getting desperate. Next was Abbie and finally Rush! Another male to bond with! But all those years have taken their toll. This picture says it all.”
We decided when we were pregnant with our very first child that we never wanted to find out what we were having.
With all the advances in science and the amazing things they are able to do these days we wanted to be kept in the dark about what the sex of our child was.
So through the first 5 children we never found out.
It was what got me through 100 hours of labor without drugs.
I just wanted to know what that dang baby was so bad I kept going!
But, with our 6th I was at the regular 30 week appointment where they do the last ultrasound and I was watching the screen….. when out of nowhere…..
“Oh! My goodness!” I yell.
“Thats a BOY!”
“I thought you didn’t want to know” says the lab tech.
“Well I didn’t but, oh, my. You don’t have to say anything I can clearly see that it is a BOY!” I say again.
“Yes, honey it is.”
Then we knew. It was fun to know, after 4 girls I could prepare a little more.
Withe this one, I decided I was too old to not find out!
So we did, and we are having a …..
GIRL!
This is the ironic part, on the day we found out, my Mother not knowing what we were having and that we were going to find out, posted the above photo and this post!
